What to Ask an Anytime Delivery Service When You Call

An anytime delivery service, such as GLH European, or courier service can be a great choice for businesses with last minute packages they need to get to another office nearby. For individuals and businesses, such services can often pick up items like prescriptions from a pharmacy, groceries, and the like. When you're ready to call such a courier service, note a few questions to ask so you know you get the right company and know what's involved in their service, and that nothing is overlooked.

Always ask if they handle your type of package

Some delivery services are just individuals on a bike or scooter, and they may be useful for carrying paperwork, blueprints, and other such items to another office. However, they may not be equipped to carry home your hot food! Some courier vans are refrigerated in the back so that they can deliver cakes and flowers, but this also may not be the best choice for delivering your hot food.

On the other hand, if you do have baked goods that you need to get to a last minute party or a large flower arrangement for an urgent apology, you'll need that refrigerated van! Don't assume that all courier services are alike, but always ask if they can manage your type of package before using their services.

Ask how mileage is calculated

Ask if mileage is calculated from doorstep to doorstep, and if there is an extra charge for the driver to get a signature from the recipient, if necessary. You may be calculating mileage with an online app or website, assuming the charge is calculated from a parking lot to a parking lot, but the delivery service may be using a different calculation that can add to your costs. They may also charge extra for the driver getting out of the vehicle, for getting a signature, and other such charges that can add up, so you'll want to know what is factored in.

Ask if your package is insured

You may not think you need insurance coverage for a dinner or prescription delivery, but you should be reimbursed these small costs if something is ruined or the driver gets into a collision. For office deliveries, you should still be reimbursed for the time it takes to create a duplicate drawing, blueprint, agreement, and so on. Ask their insurance limits so you know you're covered at least to some extent, if something were to happen in transit.

The Joy Of Speed: Transport News And Happenings

Hi, Jackson Johnstone here with the latest in transport news and happenings. I built my first go-cart with my dad when I was six years old, and I can still remember the wonder of speed and the absolute joy of feeling wind in my hair. I guess that piqued my life-long interest in all types of transport. After many go-carts, I graduated to BMX bikes, motorcycles and sports cars. These days I fly my own one-seater plane! This blog will include my reflections on transport-related issues that attract my attention. I hope that you find it interesting, useful and informative. Please scan and have fun.
